1.) Ndiri Muchiki: Ndakauona uri wega, uchifamba uriwega, hana yangu yakarova, ndakakusvitsa shoko. (I saw you walking alone, my heart beat and I proposed love.) Rudo rwedu rwakabhebha, ini newe paruzevha, fara zvako mudiwa wangu ndirimurudo newe. (We fell in great love, me and you at our rural area.) Kuhuri tiritose, kumvura tiritose, imbwa dzangu mumashwe tichinanaidzana newe. (We were finding firewood together, fetching water together, my dogs following behind me, showing each other much needed love.) Mudiwa ndakakuda wakadaro, ukandida nkakadai, fara zvako mudiwa wangu ndirimurudo newe. (Lovie, I loved you as you are and you loved me just as I am. So be happy we are in great love.) Veshanje vakayedza, kuti rudo ruparare, hapana chakabuda vaitowedzera moto. (The jealous ones fought hard trying to break our love, but they failed. Their jealousy added more love between us.) Mudiwa wako ane man’a, bvudzi rake kunge mufushwa, matya dzake madhende washayeiko shamwari. (They said my lover has cracks on her heals, her hair is like dried vegetables, she is very poor.) Akaenda kwavatete kunopiwa mazano, hapana chakafamba teerera unzwe tete. Dzimba idzi dzinonetsa, varume vanonetsa zvarinoona ndirindega ndakaikoriwa imba. (She consulted her aunt about how to get into a good marriage, but that did not help…listen to what her aunt has said to her: “Marriages are difficult, men are not good. As you can see, I am a single mother. I broke my marriage, go and experience it for yourself.” All of this bad advice did not break our love. It only served to stoke the flames of our love and kept our fire burning.) Nhasi uno tirimudhorobha, mucheno pave pamusha pawo, musoro uye wave ne weave tichinanaidzana naye. (The jealous ones begin to admire my loved one, why? Leave my wife with me, shame on you.) Ndorudo mudiwa! (We have true love!)

Tinwe Tose 09:12
2.) Timwe Tose: Chinhu chinonzi mufaro hutano. Ndofara seiko pasina vamwe? (Happiness is healthy. How can I be happy without others?) Huyai mose vakomana. Huyai mose vasikana. Huyai mose vanababa. Huyai mose vana amai. (Come boys and girls, mothers and fathers and enjoy together.) Regai timwe tose vamwe vangu. Timwe tose. (Come, my friends and let us drink beer together.) Kumwa kwakanaka mukomberanwa. Timwe tose. (Sharing beer with others is good, so let us drink together.) Regai tidye tose vamwe vangu. Tidye tose. (Come, my friends and let us eat together.) Kudya kwakanaka mubvutidzanwa. Tidye tose. (Eating together is good, so let us eat together.) Uyu wamwa naye? Tamwanaye! (Have you drank beer with others? Yes!) Ko uyu wadya naye? Tamwanaye! (Have you eaten with others? Yes!) Munoda zvokunwa here? (Do you want something to drink?) Yeeeessss!!! Uyu chake, uyu chake, uyu chake. (Get your beer.)
3.
3.) Wherever You Go: I’m already missing you. Gaze is where I’m going to. We’ll see each other soon, if just in a while. Ocean separating us. It’s nothing if not dangerous. Time and space divide, love bring us together. Wherever you go. Wherever I go. Wherever you go, love brings us together. Tichimwa, tichifara pamwe. (Having joy, sharing drinks together.) Tichasvika ikoko. (We will get there.) Tichanya ikoko. (We will come there.) Tichimwa, tichifara pamwe! (Drinking & having joy together!)
4.
4.)Madzvinyu (Lizards): Mai mwana ndaona madzvinyu, ndaona madzvinyu asina ndaona. Ndaona madzvinyu asina muswe. Ndaona madzvinyu achitenderera mumba. Zvirikufamba seiko. (I have seen some lizards without tails, making some rounds in the house-What is going on here?) Ndaona madzvinyu asina muswe ndaona madzvinyu asina muswe achitenderera mumba yakaendepiko miswe yacho. (I have seen lizards with no tails around the house-Where have their tails gone?) Hama dzangu dzave nemibvunzo pandiri. Kuswera kundenderedza iwe. (My relatives have many questions for me as I spend my days following behind you.) Shamwari, dzave nemibvunzo pandiri kuswera ndichikuitira zvose. (My friends have questions for me, spending my days doing your chores as well as my own.) Hapana rudo rwakadaro. (This is no kind of love.) Mudzimai wakenyanya unozondinyanyira kuswera ndichikuitira zvose. (My wife you are too much; manipulating me into taking care of every little thing, assuming all the responsibilities, doing all the work and being her servant.)
5.
Kutenda 08:16
5.) Kutenda: Tose dai taiziva kutenda Mwari. (If all of us have faith in God.) Zvinhu zvose hama. Zvese hazvo hana avaitirerukira. (Everything would go well for us all.) Honai pasi rino raipa? (Where is the righteousness over the world?) Vamwe vanoba zvese nekuponda inga raipa. (Some steal from others; some killing others. There are bad things going on.) Moyo wangu unorwadza ishe. (My heart feels pain.) Vamwe vanoba, nezita renyu inga raipa. (Some stealing in God’s name. There are bad things in the world.) Nzara nenzara, hondo nehondo inga zvaoma. (There is hunger, war after war…there is trouble in the world.) Tipeiwo simba renyu tnzi wangu. (Give us your mighty power.) Ridzinge mhepo mweya wakaipa ubve matiri. (Remove all the bad spirits from our midst.) Yoyoo, yoyoo, yoyoo. Ishe, yoyoo, yoyooyoyo. (Praying to the Almighty for change.) Pindirai tenzi, pasi rino raipa. (Please God, intervene.) Vabareki vevana, kutora vana kuita vakadzi. (Some parents are abusing their own children.) Pasi rino raipa. Nzara nenzara. Hondo nehondo. Inga zvaoma. (Where is the righteousness over the world? There is hunger, war after war and so many diseases.) Pindirai Ishe. (Please God, intervene.)
6.
Farewell 06:37
6.) Farewell: Farewell for now, my friends. When will we be here again? How and where, we don’t know when. For now, farewell, my friends. Deep in our souls, we know what’s true. We know, we know, before we knew where we’d land and who we’d be. Here we are, we are one, be complete. Farewell for now, my friends. When will we be here again? How and where, we don’t know when. For now, farewell my friends. Tinotenda, tafara tafara. (Thank you we have been enjoying & enjoying.) Tasanganiswa nenyasha dzaMwari. (The grace of God brought us together.) Tinovimba tichaonana zve. (We hope to meet again.) Nhapitapi moregwa ichanaka. (Everything in moderation.) Iwo mafaro ndokudya kwedu. (Joy is like our daily meals.) Vabiki vemafaro.

about

Killion "Kidza" Manyika and Matthew "Moyo" Wasowski reunited in the summer of 2019 to collaborate on this collection of original sungura music. The recording sessions happened at Alema Studio in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. Despite the power outages (sometimes lasting 18 hours a day or longer), the two were able to complete an album with the encouragement of Alick Macheso (sungura legend) and his engineer, Aaron Tom. When the lights were on and the generator quenched, Manyika & Moyo worked in 10-12 hour blocks, finishing the record in three concentrated sessions. Kidza assembled a phenomenal group of artists for the project including: Fungai Chisakuwana (bass), Tapera "Mhungu" Pfumai (sub-rhythm guitar) as well as Meneni "Mukanya" (drum kit). God willing, the two will reconvene in Zimbabwe sometime in the near future but until then, Killion and Matt continue to write and record together, sharing song ideas long distance. They hope and pray to perform & tour together somehow. All proceeds from the sale of our CDs and downloads will go to the Manyika Family in Zimbabwe. Lyrics and translations are available as a bonus item. Thanks for your generous support!!!
